Dr. Bhattacharya is a fellowship trained pediatric surgeon who specializes in general and thoracic surgery needs. He has been invited to lecture nationally on cancer biology and tumor metastasis. He joined University Surgical Associates in 2016.
Dr. Bhattacharya sees patients at USA Medical Mall office on Tuesday (9 – 11 am) and Thursday (9 – 11am). He performs surgery at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, TN.

Since moving to Chattanooga nearly 10 years ago, Dr. Bhattacharya has dedicated countless hours to preventing gun violence.
As Pediatric Trauma Medical Director for Erlanger Children’s, Dr. Bhattacharya sees firsthand the impact of gun violence on our community, and he’s actively involved in educating government officials and community groups on these issues. This includes working closely with Tennessee legislators and local business/healthcare leaders to raise awareness of the trends in pediatric trauma and to implement forward-thinking injury prevention initiatives.
