University Surgical Associates is proud to announce the installment of Dr. Shauna Lorenzo as 2017 president of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society. Physicians, business leaders and members of the medical society gathered Thursday, January 19 to witness the momentous event.
ABOUT THE MEDICAL SOCIETY
The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society is an advocate for physicians and for the continual improvement of community health. The Medical Society works with organizations to elevate the status of the medical profession locally, across Tennessee and the nation.
THE PLAN FOR 2017
Dr. Lorenzo plans to spend her year as president building on the fundamental services of the Medical Society while also making the Society more visible to the public and patients, not just the medical community. She has also crafted an initiative she calls Mutual Medical Mentoring, which will pair experienced physicians with newer ones, allowing each to teach the other the unique practical knowledge they possess.
