Registered Vascular Technologist

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with ultrasound procedures, preparing patient rooms and equipment, collaborating with other staff regarding on-going research, and many other tasks while adhering to all established quality control standards. They should be able to provide information for patients upon their request, and be able to do so by continuing their education and staying updated on new procedures.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in vascular technology. Prefer a minimum of 2 years in allied health field. Must obtain RVT credential within 12 months of employment.

Performs vascular ultrasound exams in office and satellite offices.

Assists surgeons with ultrasound portion of ultrasound guided injections/aspirations.

Assists in ongoing quality assurance of vascular lab.

Works with surgeons and residents on various research projects.

Ensures that infection control procedures are followed and quality control standards are met.

Prepares room and equipment for vascular procedures and injection/aspiration procedures.

Prepares and maintains paperwork related to the procedure being performed.

Positions patients and operates equipment in a proper and efficient manner to produce the most reliable and informative data.

Provides education and support to patient as may be appropriate.

Remains current in new procedures and maintains continuing education.

Follows preventative maintenance procedures for equipment used.

Performs other duties as assigned.
