pelvic vein congestion
Our other area of interest in venous disease is pelvic venous congestion. This is typically seen in younger women (premenopausal) who have children. This can result in significant quality of life problems such as pelvic pain/fullness/aching especially with standing and can cause painful intercourse and occasionally frequently having to urinate.
Once your gynecologist has ruled out other causes, this can frequently be determined by ultrasound. Most patients can get relief by placing coils and stents in the diseased veins.
