Dr. Witherspoon, board certified through the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), specializes in breast surgery. Dr. Witherspoon joined University Surgical Associates in 1997.

Dr. Witherspoon has office hours at USA's Surgical Specialties Building on Monday, (8 - 11:20 a.m.) Thursday (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) and the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) and Erlanger East Hospital on Wednesday (9 a.m. - Noon). Dr. Witherspoon performs surgery at Erlanger Hospital, Plaza Surgery Center at Erlanger, Memorial Hospital and Parkridge Hospital.

Dr. Witherspoon is an assistant professor in surgery, Department of Surgery, for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga.
